Killing in the Name of God (or Justice) - Right or Wrong?

I just got through watching the movie "The Boondock Saints," (if you haven't watched it, do so, it's a great movie) and it got me thinking... Is killing in the name of God or Justice right? Even if the people you are killing are indeed criminals so dispicable it makes your stomach turn? I am on the fence with this issue. I think that it would be right if it was absolutely 100% proven that the criminal in questions was indeed guilty and that the penalty for that crime warrants death. Then there is the issue about who gives them the right to be judge, jury and executioner. Who are they do decide someones fate, even if the "condemned" were 100% guilty? What do you think?

by no means it is justice, god never gave us permission to kill goats to please them, have u ever heard of goat killing a man to please god? i have obsered this kind of act in "eid" (holy festival of islam, muslims), they mercilessly kill 1000's of goats

I have never heard of that specific ritual, but I've heard of something similar with goats, sheep and other animals. Personally, whether it's animals or not I don't know whether I believe in it at all. Still on the fence.

It's not the right way because no religious books say that killing is the way of god's justice.

Never in the name of God..."Vengeance is mine saith the Lord". Justice absolutely yes. If there no laws of justice then there there would be even more crimes committed.
