XBOX 360 - Experiences? Horror Stories? Had to use Warranty?

My husband wants one for Christmas and I want it too.. I am worried about it breaking though.. where is the best place to buy it with the best warranty..? I have heard Toys R Us is BAD and I know from experience that Circuit City is BAD .. Anyone have any 360 experiences? Anyone have one that HASN'T broken?? Anyone use the intercooler thingy does it work?? Thanks =)
