Ok google hit the market hard! When blogs became popular they took off. I am gonna layout the next great product and you tell me if I am right or what I am missing. Whoever wants to make it with me lets do it. First we must recognize what is there, why people use it and what it lacks. GMAIL Google searches Myspace pages Yahoo Answers Babel Fish ***Please add top products I forgot. Thepoint of this post is combining a items already exsisting but increase what they lack and combine them in a format that works. Please join in. I think if we started to work on a project like this we would get competitors and offers before we had one page up and running. First myspace is a great interface for the demographic but doesn't recognize other demographics or does enough to make them feel comforatable in using a product with a lower age demographic. Myspace works and has many *playful features people love however it lacks. Where does it lack? Well A person can post on your page a message and you can only reply on their page this makes it a personal product which does nothing for third party visitors. This must be addressed and eliminated. Must have back and forth interaction like a message board style with the options of a myspace personal design with easy interface people adapt to and become comfortable really fast. Yahoo Answers This should be implemented into the interface. Study must be done if this product can be implemented while not being ignored or take attention off main product. This has to be one major interface or a complete house that everything is utilized. GMAIL: A similar mail like program that gives you all the options and ties in all the alerts from the main interface from message boards on personal pages to an Q&A area. Most tie in mobile alerts,SMS options etc. Babel Fish: Must be an easy interface allowing you to translate any given page. Categories in general need to be recognized. On yahoo answers there are a very limited categories offered to users. We must address this along with a great offerings for Local areas. There is no interface addressing locals if a person wants to talk to people in a given town or county nothing exsists. We must tie this in and also go after every possible culture and subculture. INTERACTIVE INTERFACE: Much like wikipedia this nees to be interactive people most be allowed to make real time design edits to complete system and a system where majority want goes. With everyone working on it, it will develop into Utopia. This system doesn not work on a group of designers or one idea. Everyone must be part of this system or else it fails. This system will offer novelty but will not be a ploy like invite only. This will be open to everyone. Please fire away ideas on what you think?

OK, I think I got the drift here!!! You want to take the best of everything and make it into one super thing. You want to make an idiot proof system that even a granny can work without becoming confused!!! The problem here is: Where do you start and where do you stop!!! Is too little not enough and is too much too confusing? You have to decide whether this is for the normal joe blogg or the expert user. Try thinking in stages. Like a basic system for the granny, a little bit extra added on at every stage. This way poeple like joe bloggs can decide himself where he stands. As long as the "upgrades" are free this could work ok. Keep me posted on this one. It sound interesting!!!

I agree, adding features in stages makes the user feel like they're valued.

I personally find you can never have “one-site” for everything. I’m unsure whether you want to incorporate the concepts of each of those sites or ‘bad’ points you picked up on and creating a similar things? Although I do like incorporating some form of ‘translation’ onto pages, for example if someone’s home language is French and wrote in French you’d be excluding a large number of people, if you had the option on that page to translate it, I think that’d be pretty beneficial.
