Not happy with this season

Now I know that all the old writers have left and these are new writers and in fact it is the last season. But what have they done to the show. It is just not what it used to be. I really miss Luke with Lorelai, they were a perfect fit and not sure why all the lying had to start between them. Yes everyone wants a happy ending with the mother and father of Rory, but seriously, they do not fit together. Christopher is way to serious at times and Lorelai has this certain quirkyness about here that is just so right when her and Luke were together. I really wish this show would continue on, but at the rate it is going anyway, it may be a good thing that it will be no longer

I am very disappointed by this season. I used to miss Luke with Lorelai. I don't know if Lorelai even deserves to be with him now. They have really made her character unlikeable this season. I like the changes in Luke since he has been reunited with his daughter. Lorelai has been acting like a spoiled brat ever since she came back from France. I was never a Chris fan before but I can't help but feel bad for him now. Lorelai has treated him terribly.. What else can he do for her? He moved to her town, into her house, tried to make friends with her friends.. I thought it was sweet how he tried to make that donation to the town at the knit-a-thon. I also don't like how they are focusing on Rory's "new friends"..There are not enough scenes with Paris. I think Paris is hysterical.

I still love the show. I can understand why they had Lorelai and Christopher get married - and its almost like Lorelai didn't really want to do it but she couldn't say no. It creates more conflict and doubt - especially for the viewers. This is what they want people to do. Discuss, debate, get into it. As far as Luke goes, as much as you always wanted them to be together, I'm glad they're not. It creates a whole other element of the story and I like that they did that. If everything was wrapped up in a neat little bow we wouldn't watch anymore!

I'm not too disappointed with this season. Although you can tell there are different writers. I like Chris and Lorelei together. I think they're cute. I just wish Rory would have more time with Logan... I just want to see more of him because he's a hottie! lol. I am anxious to see how they close out this season and to see if there will be more seasons after this year.

I totally agree, although I think Luke is also VERY serious! I love Luke and Lorelei combo. I hope that the season figures itself out and Luke and Lorelei end up together. I want it to be done in a proper way though, since Lorelei and Chris are married they have to be careful.

I hadn't heard that this was the last season. I kinda like Lorelai with Christopher. He brings her down to earth and she is teaching him how to live more free. They are really cute together. Luke had too many neuroses. That said, I am glad he appears to be going to sue for his parental rights to April. It would be interesting to see April and Rory try to be sisters.

its just too bad that lauren grisham wont renew her contract. she carries her character so well and the way she delivers those witty snappy remarks are just plain hilarious.

I'm crushed!!! This is the last season of Gilmore Girls???? Where has it been said this is the last season? No way! I am hurt! My daughter is going to hate this news! They are taking away everything I love on tv! Next thing you know, they are going to take away Smallville and ANTM. Then I will have nothing to watch. :(

Wow, I didn't realize it was the last season either... I just got my dd's Season 5 for Christmas and will buy Season 6 later. We didn't get started watching this show till about a year ago and have been watching reruns every day. You just can't help but laugh at the snappy remarks! It's a hilarious show, but also very meaningful. We plan to get through Season 5 over Christmas break. Wonder if I can rent the first seasons from a rental store? I couldn't find them to buy at the store.

I am happy to see Lorelai with Christopher because I felt Luke kept making too many excuses not to get married and did not incorporate her into his life. Such as, when he found out about April, he kept Lorelai alienated and she kept having to second guess her relationship. Chris never had any doubts and always wanted to incorporate her. And it also helps that they have this long history together as kids, him being the father of her baby, etc... just seemed like the cycle came back around to give her the family she wanted. This season seemed different than others, I feel, because Rory is entering a phase in her life where college is over and has to embark on a real world journey... and her mother finally has nothing holding her back from having a life of her own.
