do you believe in soul mates?

In my spiritual studies I believe that the soul was created with 2 parts. The masculine and feminine as a whole we are soul mates and seperate we are our true individual selfs. I do not think that here on earth you find a soul mate. You do however find kindred sprits. Those you know and love from the otherside and are spending life here on earth either as a mate or a friend... But you soul mate is actually the other half of you as created by the greater energy ( call him and her what you want.) I know of God to be male and female each having unique qualities but together being the God head... We were created in that image and that is why there are 2 genders.
