My husband and I moved into a house and from the first night, I had a feeling that someone was watching me. My husband thought I was being silly, but I still felt like someone was. In a spare room at night I could hear the chair squeaking like someone had just sat on it. I would ask my husband if he heard it and he said no. Also in that room at night I would hear a baby cry, but my husband didn't. After a while I thought I was starting to lose it because I would hear these things and my husband wouldn't. Then one night we were in bed and we heard all this wind sound. We at first thought it was really windy outside but if we went out of our room, you couldn't hear it and if you went outside, there was no wind. My husband started to believe me then. After the first time this happened, we ended up hearing it most nights at the same time, 3am. We noticed that the spare room was always cold. We also had things moved around a lot. One time my husband used the cordless phone in the shed and left it there. When we went to get it, we couldn't find it. We look everywhere. We didn't bother looking in the spare room because no-one had been there for days. Almost giving up we decided to look in the spare room, and yep, there it was. One night my husband was standing in the lounge and was nearly knocked over because something punched him in the stomach. The only people that were there was me and my husband. I had a glass on the coffee table and at the same time this happened to him, my glass exploded into pieces. I asked neighbours if people stayed in this house for long and they said that we have stayed the longest. Other people broke their lease and left around six months or earlier. They say that animals can see spirits too, at the time we had two cats and they would be asleep in the lounge but every now and then they would both look up at the same time and look straight down the hallway. Sometimes the cats went really weird in the hallway too. They would jump up at nothing, it looked like they were trying to get something. If I sat on the couch to watch tv, sometimes I almost thought I would see something going from my room to the spare room. don't know if I really did or it was just my imagination. We used to have lights go on and off, hear knocking on the front door but no-one would be there. It was funny because when our first son was born we didn't have much happen after that. Only the lights would go on and off every now and then. When my son was about 6 months old it all seemed to have stopped.

I lived in a haunted house for a few years. there were many things that went on in that house. All of the things that you hear about like doors opening even though they were latched. Also the smell of a fire, and the sounds of children crying or playing. I would hear the sound and think there were kids outside playing but when I would look there was nothing. So many things and really nothing super concrete other than the story I relayed above. As to why they quit suddenly? who knows but one thing for sure is there was something there. Great account.....thank you!

My brother-in-laws mom passed away less than a month ago. She was cremated and he has her urn in their house. The urn is a small wooden box that is wrapped around a rubber band. One night his dad came over to bring pizza from a place they all love. When my brother-in-law went to his bedroom he saw the rubber band came off the urn. Nobody had touched the urn. When they were having pizza a very strong scent of roses was around them and they don't use any type of air fresh. So clearly her spirit was there. She really wanted to have pizza with them.

One night I was finished watching a tv program after about 11pm I turned off the set. The house was completely queit and everyone else was allready asleep. It was then that I could hear the shower curtain in the batroom running back and forth on the rod. I got up to see who it was and no one was in the batroom. The curtain was open half way, which it was always left all the way open, so it would remain dry. I was dumbfounded, and quite frightened. I really became frightened a year later when a friend of my stepson told him that something was in the batroom pulling the curtain back and forth on the rod. Either of the boys had no previous knowlege of what I had experienced because I never told anyone about it. But when they told me what they saw, my blood ran cold and I teared up. It was really something. What I don't really know, but it wasn't a person.

I love ghost stories and have collected a lot of the folklore tales that run commonly through America as well as other countries such as vanishing hitchhiker stories, etc. The only experience I have of my own was still my mother's and not actually mine. She happened to be very close to her grandmother. When this relative passed, my mother kept a broken music box that grandmother had owned. Whenever my mother was paricularly sad or really worried, the broken music box would play for her and make her smile. I am a bit of a skeptic and I asked her if I could look at the broken music box. there is no way that music box could ever play, half the teeth were missing on the gears.

The music box story is truly mystifying. On thing I am sure of is there is something else.....Life can be quite amazing if you just let it be. Thanks for your story.

I can't remember this whole story in detail, but I'll try my best. When my uncle was a child, he lived in New York with his parents, brother and sister. He said that there was this little girl that would appear and always talk to him. She would do crazy things around the house, like move things. This one particular incident, she pushed his sister down the stairs. Some years later they had their house renovated and under the stairs, in a space that was closed up and not accessable to the anyone, they found a small brush and comb. After that, they never saw the little girl again.
