why use Text talk on message board?

why do people use text talk when typing on a message board where you can make a the post as long as you want? Lazyness? or just not able to write the proper words anymore?

I really don't know, but I find it annoying as well.I am aware that some people on this site connect via their cell phones and that may be part of the reason.
