Favorite Garden Plant

I write freelance gardening articles part-time so I'm curious. Which plants in your garden (or a friend's garden) are your favorite and why?

I have yellow roses. I love them so I bought some a plant one day. I have noticed that their colour was a weird live sunny yellow. Then I took the plant home. I put it near my window and I used to talk to it. 1 week after that, I saw the first rose. I smelled it and surprise... It was smelling like lemon and vanilla. The most weird smell ever. So nice, so fresh, so summery!

I always get a yellow rose for my friend who is a transplanted Texan! :-) There are so really nice yellow English roses available now. Thanks for your comment!
