What does this mean for you - if you have a loved one who has been diagnosed with Autism? This bill authorizes almost $1 billion over the next five years to combat autism through research, screening, early detection and early intervention. As a parent of a child on the autism spectrum, I think this is a great step forward in getting my son the help he needs.

This is great news! I have a few colleagues at college who are in my counseling program in graduate school and they work with some of the autism research and programs at the Univ. at Buffalo. That should mean that more programs might be available. I know that UB has the one all summer that many of the people from my department assist with so this is great news because funding is always short!
