I haven't seen anyone post anything about this great web hosting service, so I just want to get it known=]. NearlyFreeSpeech.net is web hosting where you put money into your account, and you only get charged for the amount of space/bandwidth you use. The current rate is $1 per 100MB of storage and $1 per 1GB (1024MB) of transfers. However (!!), they do NOT do any sort of rounding, so if you use 0.5MB of space and nobody visits your site, you will have accumulated 0.5 cents of charges at the end of the month. They offer PHP4 (PHP5 support is still in testing but you can sign up for it), SSH access, compiler access (!), and a load of other goodies for all you techies out there=]. MySQL is currently free, but starting on Jan 1st of 2007, they will start charging for MySQL at the price of 1 cent/day per process. They had to do this because the MySQL processes were taking up too many resources (for example, if I had a MySQL process even though I have no databases, I'd still be using resources). For all you people concerned about downtimes and reliability, NearlyFreeSpeech.net runs on clustered servers. That means your site will be unaffected even if one or two servers decides to burst into flames (that is, if the whole datacenter doesn't burn down ;]). By the way, for the last 2-3 months, I have used up only[$0.0012 (space) + $0.0094 (transfers) = $0.0106] of my $6.05 that I have in my account. I don't think I'd get charged though--I think space and transfers are billed individually, and as I said before, they don't round. = http://nearlyfreespeech.net/ Any questions, comments, blahblahs? =]

Maybe i would try them if they accept egold and/or AlertPay, but seems like they only accept CreditCard payments... So, this is not for me lol. Sad :(
