Do you believe gone with the wind is the best in the category of romance?

Gone with the wind - this picture is an intense scene between scarlett and rhett when hes drunk and angry at her for refusing to give up her love for a married man and realise that she should love her own husband rhett

gone with the wind.. my all time fav! its best in the sense that it has the most unique story with twists and passion that no other book can match.. this is no ordinary story, 2 ppl meet, fall in lov.. end of story. no! its about the challenges of realising the difference in who you want and whos right for you and the battle between ones ego and heart. i believe this story has a depth which no novel till now has been able to match.. any opinions?

i agree that it's a great romance and has many twist and turns. it's also about growing up and learning to appriciate loved ones before it's too late ! you may have to lie in the bed you make...but if rhett butler is in it too, what a way to go...lol !

I definitely agree. Everytime I have seen the movie I always hope that Scarlett realizes what good of a man she has next to her. But of course it never happens. The the novel is much more interesting a few details are omitted from the movie, but overall the movie is still my all time favorite. It deals with so many reall life situation. War, obviously is something many of us don't like to experience. The loss of a loved one is displayed many times throughout the movie and it isvery realistic. And then the blind love. Scarlet didn't know she loved Rhett and would treat him so wrong. It happens a lot now of days, many of us don't appreciate what we have until it's gone. Has anyone read "Scarlet"? I thought it was a pretty decent book. IT actually made me happy to know they do get back together? I am such a sapp for love stories
