Hello Swasti, The experience you are having is called Astral Traveling. Everyone does it but not everyone is conscious of it. Every night when we fall asleep our consciousness leaves the physical and turns it's direction toward nonphysical worlds. There are many many different spaces we travel to during the night. Many people only ever remember they have dreamed, yet this is only one experience you can have during the night. If you understand that we are actually spiritual beings having an experience in a physical body, then you can certainly understand the sense of this statement. When a person starts to become conscious that they leave their body, often there is a feeling of fear but not seeing what the fear is about. It is quite physical in essence. There is a sense of not being able to open your eyes, even though you are wanting to. I had the fear experience several times. I found out it was me leaving and reentering the body. The conscious mind, or the ordinary mind, got in the way. The path of a true initiate is one where they can put consciousness where there is no consciousness. And that means becoming conscious of what happens during sleep. That doesn't mean you don't rest or are not rested while you are conscious of traveling during the night. So if you are having these experiences then you may want to push them and become more aware of what is happening.

Unfortunately the experiences didn't last and I feel I missed a window to be able to do it. I hope it happens in the future. I have been doing meditation and inner work for a long time now and perhaps I will get the chance. At least I have learned to be discerning about what I open my energy to, that is in nonphysical realms. So when the window opens again I won't be so afraid of the experience.

I have practiced astral projection with success in the past, and it really is an interesting experience. If you want to read more about it, I would suggest Robert Monroe's book "Journeys Out of the Body".
