it's a nice thing Waqar is one of a long line of Pakistanis (starting with Sarfraz Nawaz) who have been effective at using the art of reverse swing. In partnership with Wasim Akram, Younis spearheaded the Pakistan bowling attack in the early to mid 90's. Following their 1992 series versus England, the English media, were suspicious of the then 'mysterious' art of reverse swing. This led to cries of foul play and allegations of "ball-tampering" from some quarters. Waqar Younis's bowling against South Africa in Sheikhupura, Pakistan, is remembered for his effective use of the short-pitched delivery. Waqar Younis is oft-cited amongst the finest fast bowlers. Other famous fast bowlers of 1990s include Allan Donald, Glenn McGrath, Courtney Walsh, Wasim Akram and Curtly Ambrose.

I think he is really a good choice. A great bowler of his time and also master of swing so he is really helping players on bwoling line and length and swing.

He is a great choice. Although Pakistani Team is full of good fast bowlers but since he has joined as a coach, the team has really improved in bowling department, especially in line and length.

He IS one of the greatest bowlers of all time. He had puit Pakistan cricket while he was captain and did the same same thing when He became the bowling coach. The bowlers at once started giving performances. So he should be hired back.

Yes, he is a Legend of cricket, but I personaliy think that Wasim Akram can be much better bowling coach for Pakistan Cricket Team as compare to Waqar Younis

I guess its the best thing that can happen to Pakistani cricket, using veteran cricketers as coaches, its a pity we have Javed Miandad sitting and we use a western coach for that purpose.

Indeed it was great to have Waqar Younis as Pakistan Cricket Team bowling coach. He along wasim akram won pakistan many matches. His experience would have been a boost for pakistan team, Pakistani team improved in bowling department under his coaching. Young bowlers like rana, umar, asif all admitted on air. But sadly, like before, Pakistan management sacked waqar. I guess I am already too late to respond to this topic. Just thought to bring life to this topic, Happy discussions.

I THINK SO WAQAR AND WASIM SHOULD BE THE BOWLING COACH FOR PAKISTAN.IF BOTH WILL BE THERE THEN NO ONE CAN DEFEAT PAKISTAN AS THEY ARE STRONGEST COACHES AND BOWLERS IN THE WORLD.
