No. But what is important that you respect your friend's feelings. If she denies do not feel bad.

I personally don't find any harm in it. Even i m into a commitment with teh person who previously was my friend. After one year of friendship i proposed her and not its been three years to our committment and Insha Allah it will remain there till we are alive.
