If u have not yet heard president Bush just put a proposal in circulation that would have the U.S. build a giant wall on the border of the U.S. and Mexico, kinda like what the great wall of China was built for but instead of keeping out Huns its just keeping out Mexicans. do u think what Bush is suggesting is right or do u think this is tottally wrong and is taking away from the image that the U.S. is an open country that will take anybody in?

I don't think the giant wall is necessary at all. They can just enact an effective law to be enforced to the utmost. The expenses for the wall may just be used for the expenses for the enforcement of the law. No amount of wall can prevent people from entering if they so desire so the giant wall would eventually prove ineffective. And yes, the image of the US as an open country will be damaged.

well it worked in germany and the only reason that the wall came down was because the collapse of communism, and the cost of the wall would include putting law enforcement officials along the wall to keep illegals out, so this plan covers your plan and then some

Hi! I hadn't heard this, but regardless of whether it's right or not, I don't see how it's remotely plausible to do.

it is its just like 2.8 billion down payment and it would acctually allow national guardsmen to shot anyone trying to cross the border, just like if a Cuban tries to get into Guantanamo Bay
