causes of chapped lips

Having chapped lips has always been my problem during cold and warm weathers.So i always have my lip balm with me, stay away from sun and drink alot of water. One weekend last summer, my bf visited me in my apartment. We decided to just stay home and get romantic. We were flirting all day and we had the greatest kiss of our lives.It was great! The next morning when i woke up, i felt my lips were sored and when i looked into the mirror, my lips were so dry and flaky.I put lip balm on it right away.It was still the same, it just lessen the pain. When i got to work that monday, everybody asked me what happend to ur lips? I asked myself, does it really look that bad? I just made an alibi that during the weekend we went to the beach and it made my lips so dry, huh! So since then,i realized that kissing too much can also cause chapped lips. so since then when i see someone with chapped lips, i just smiled and say to myself oh she had a great kiss last night.
