Cambridge Consultants uneviled an innovative medical device concept, which manages diabetes. The technology involved in it is Near Field Communication (NFC). Electronics Gaint Philips has developed a machine for them. It is wirelessly connected with an Glucometer and an Insulin Pump, the glucometer records the blood sugar and it finds any abnormal level it indicates the device, which in terms ask the concern person for a medicine dose. If he/she accepts the dose is delivered which is beneath under the clothing. See how the technology is amazing in helping humans

Thanks for the information. Still we are far from getting a established, reliable, and easy management technique for diabetes, but this and alike concepts will help a lot in that process. Finding a cure is the best but is more than unlikely at current having not specifically determined the causes of diabetes too. Let's hope for the best, not only for diabetics but for people of all illness.

All these gizimos dont really work in practice. A good pancreas for a diebetic is more worth than all the gadgets.

Where is a diabetic going to get a good pancreas? These things keep people alive. When all these "gadgets" is what keeps these people alive then that is worth more than anything else.

But how is the insulin being pumped? You can't walk around with needle poked into your body.

The object of the pump is a "needle" inserted under the skin, usually in the stomach area and it stays attached for usually 2-3 days and then is changed. It cuts down on the number of times a person has to poke themselves daily. It goes from 2 or more times daily to once every few days. It also allows for better control than with just taking insulin injections.

I strongly agree. Also with the use of these modern equipment, some people are able to discover cure for diabetes from our natural resources. Theres one company a Filipino owned company named OMMI Herbal Trading is currently exporting this natural cure to the US. i belioeve its in California. this product is called the coco-sugar. a sugar that came from coconut sap. Studies showed that the properties of a coconut sugar causes the blood sugar to drop. As compared to the white sugar, Its mnot too sweet but tastes so well. Coconut sugar is known to be rich in sugars, amino acids and specialy glutamic acid and vitamins. Hope that this product would eb available worlwide cuz its known to reverse the effect of diabetes.

I can program the glucometer to automatically send readings to the pump and it can be stored and used as a dosing guide. They also have pumps now with built in glucometer's, and they have one that is a watch (looks like one, but actually takes readings without pricking the skin). What will be good news for diabetics will be a cure. Which is a long time coming.
