How many of you will be eating healthier for the NEW YEAR?

Healthy Eating - health

I know many take a pledge to begin eating healthier when a new year approaches. I took the pledge a month or so back and have basically stuck to eating healthier and putting more into one wonderful, flavorful dish as opposed to a bunch of acceptable dishes and over indulgence. How many are going to try to eat healthier for the new year?

Along with being more optimistic, I also want to eat healthier as well. Lately I've been trying to do so and I've been doing ok but it's been hard because of all the sweets I;ve received for Christmas! After the New Year I hope to eat even more healthier than I am now!

That's why we give it a week or so between Christmas and the New Year... so we can finish off the goodies before we have to make our pledge! lol

I already eat a healthy diet, but I've been eating Christmas food (ham, turkey, dressing, corn pudding, pies, cakes, rolls, etc, etc) the past couple of day. I won't be eating more healthy than normal, but I will be eating healthier than I have been over the past couple of days. Eating bad actually makes me feel yukky!!! I'm ready to eat my usual healthy diet of good lean proteins, good fats, whole grains, and good healthy veggies again!!!

I agree with you. When I eat all this junk and sweets and goodies, I feel like I'm ready to barf or at least explode! Odd how eating bad really does make one FEEL bad. Perhaps we are what we eat!!!? LOL

I already try to eat as healthy as possible, so it won't be on my New Years resolutions list. The only thing I'd like to do food and health wise is cut out even more salt if possible. Cheers!

This is one of my new year resolutions although I am not sure if I will stick to it. I have already purchased a bread maker with the intention of making stelt bread. Also, instead of having pudding after meals, I shall have fresh fruit. I will also snack on fruit instead of crisps and chocolate. I will probably have my day of junk food at the weekend, as I don't think I could give it up altogether.

I would love to eat healthier in the sense of non chemical! I wish I could do that, I just simply don't have the time, energy or will power to though!

I am going to try. I usually try to buy organic foods when I can, but I am not a fanatic. After the new year we are going to try to eat more veggies and try to use spices instead of fat to seasons food. I am actually looking forward to it. I am hoping to lose more weight since I lost 14 pounds this year. I want to lose at least double that in 2007.

Congrats on the 14 pounds! I think as long as you feel good that's what matters! And I so agree on cooking with spices to flavor the food or bring out the flavor of food! Too often we cover it up with fats and not good for us stuff that actually hides the foods real flavors!

I definitely plan on eating healthier this New Year. I need to lose some weight so I need to watch what I eat and exercise more regularly. This has been the time of the year where I lose the most weight as I am good during the winter season. If I go back to my diet and exercise plan, I feel that I will accomplish my goal of losing weight.

This year I am going to be recommitting myself to my weightloss goals. I belong to a Christian-Based Weight Loss group called First Place. I have lost 20 pounds on the program (in 12 weeks). At this point I need to recommitte myself to the will of the Lord and not try to take things on by myself. Pray for me as I make this committement.

Not me I know that much. I dont have a weight problem or health issues so I can eat pretty much whatever I want to without having to worry about being fat.

I would really like to try to eat healthier in the new year. One way that I have been successful in the past (for short periods of time at least) is to plan my meals out better, cook more meals, and make a shopping list. I also try to avoid junk foods and eating when I'm really hungry

I promise it myself every day, or at least every week. Usually I'm able to keep this promises for a few days but then comes temptation in form of chocolate, or ice cream, and then I'll 'become weak', of course. Actually, I admire people who can keep them away from sweet things. I always try but often I fail.

Most that can keep away from them aren't thrilled with them to begin with! lol I'm amazed at the ones that eat all veggies and fruits and such and love doing it! I don't know what makes up their genes, but I sure wish I could have some!

I started Weight Watchers a few months ago, but have definitely struggled through the holidays! I will be eating healthier and excercising now that the holidays are over. I'm not waiting for the new year though, I'm starting now!

I am going to try to eat healthier this year. I hope that I can cut out sodas and drink more juice, water and unsweet tea. I also need to really be careful about what I eat. I love things that are bad for me. I know that I have to try for good carbs, vegetables, fruits and protein.

ha ha, You can add me to this list. But then again I am added to this list every year. Hopefully this will be the year that I stick to it. I weighted myself today so I know how much I want to lose. Lets see if we all can stick to it and get a little healthier! Good luck all!
