Is the internet really increasing the knowledge of the new generation?

The internet is a place where you can virtually do anything. You can buy or sell anything but does it really increase the brain power of the new generation?
For example ,children nowadays instead of using their brain use the internet to do their homework. So is it really helping?

yes it's doing... but i see most of new generation people love to chat & make friends on net. no one is interested in information.
