Anyone thiniking of designing a Speech Recognition Engine?

Speech recognition is the process of converting a speech signal to a sequence of words, by means of an algorithm implemented as a computer program.
So how is a How is a Speech Recognition Engine basically designed ?

yes, it's a useful & popular IT tech currently. But there are still many limitation of implement this tech. The main issue is the recognition rate to different accents & tones,maybe sometimes the dialect. It need to make many voice model in the system. that's so complicated !
