Yes very much. In India, most marriages are arranged marriages in the sense that the opinion and consent of boy and girl is taken by the parents of the respective parties and then only the marriage is arranged.

yes, they do i know of people who still go through with it even tho i feel it is wrong

Yes, I do think some areas of the world do still arrange marriages.
