Fixing an acer notebook computer

A customer af mine has an acer notebook computer a pentium4 and recently keeps restarting by itself after 10-30 minutes. After checking for a while i assume it was a faulty memory RAM chips and suggested her to purchase a new ram. After replacing it with a new RAM (luckily i managed to borrow it for a day just for testing purpose) the restart still appeared. What i did next was to do a full restoration from the Acer notebook CD Quick Restore. The restart stops. Now I know That iwas only A faulty Windows. I spent like 3 days to work this out, is there any better way to try to fix this in future?
