Linux RealPlayer better than Windows version?

Recently, my wireless connection has been dropping out while using WinXP (which I dual-boot with Ubuntu) - something I put down to the connection (or Windows's wireless stack) being overloaded by the data stream to/from RealPlayer - but on Linux, this never happens! Has anyone else experienced this phenomenon?
