Cure for spondylitis

My father is suffering from spondylitis.It is because of travelling too much by bus(standing for long time).Also he is suffering from diabetis.Can anyone tell me whether spondylitis is dangerous or not..?Also plz let me know how to get rid of that or reduce that.He is not at all having proper sleep also.Plz do me this favour..

Spondylitis is an inflammation of a vertebra. Any disorder of the spinal column may be called spondylopathy, also.
Pott's disease is tuberculous disease of the vertebrae marked by stiffness of the vertebral column, pain on motion, tenderness on pressure, prominence of certain of the vertebral spines, and occasionally abdominal pain, abscess formation, and paralysis.
Ankylosing spondylitis is an autoimmune disease involving the spine and sacroiliac joints.
