Is society encouraging rape and violence?

I was browsing the internet, browsing for anime photos and the like, when I came across a hentai site...
For those of you who don't know, hentai is po.rn featuring anime characters, and it also contains themes of violence, and bonda.ge.
So my topic for discussion is this:
With media like this availiable at the click of a button/mouse, is it encouraging the rates of rape and violence, or is it the people themselves that manage to interpret this as an oppurtunity to blame someone else?

not directly but indirectly through adultery these sexually apealing movies n stuff n women also wearing skimpy dresses r like indirectly ecouraging such crimes n such emotion wich lead to such crimes
u know what a mullah in Australia tried to say the same thing in a different terminology he was accused of inciting hatered n justifying rape n bla bla bla

People today are so ready to prosecute someone else and their ideas without listening to what they have to say...

What makes you think I'm eastern?
And I'm not saying that it JUSTIFYS rape etc, I'm just asking if maybe these type of sites and things are 'widening the horizons'of would be criminals, putting the ideas they need in their heads?
