Some people believe it's not worth their time to pick up, but other consider it "a penny saved is a penny earned". What's your choice when you see a penny on the ground and why?

I have picked them up in the past yes. Simply because a lady who has now passed use to pick them up off the ground and people would laugh at her. She told me that people should not disrespect the value of a penny like that. I don't pick them up much now adays because I have a bad back and the bending over would be a strain on me. But when I see one laying on the ground I do think of her with fondness. She taught me alot about God and the value of a penny :)

She seems like a very insightful and intelligent person. I once got laughed at for picking up a penny. It bothered me for a while as to why it was so bad to pick up a penny. I wondered: Am I being cheap? Greedy? This was all when I about 12 or 13 years old. After I grew up a bit and started having bills and pretty much growing up, I realized there was nothing wrong with picking up a penny and that maybe it was there for me to pick up in case I needed it because life works in mysterious ways sometimes. So, I pick up pennies if no one else around me needs it more than I do and, if I don't know their financial situation, I leave it as it's not my place to ask if they need it. I keep all my coins in a jar in the event I may need them one day because you never know what tomorrow may bring.

whenever i see a penny on the street, i don't pick it up. even it's 100 pesos, i don't pick it up. i am lucky when it comes to my financial status. and whenever i see money of the street, i always think that someone might need it more than me. so, i wanna let others who need it more than me pick it up.

That's very generous of you. Most people can be greedy and pick it up when they may not need the penny at all. Thanks for your response.
