A 15-year-old girl has given birth in her classroom in front of stunned pupils. The unnamed teenager went into labour on Monday just after the start of the school day at St Joseph's Catholic College, Cunliffe Road, Manningham in Bradford. Yorkshire Ambulance Service responded to an emergency call at 9.19am and the youngster was taken to Bradford Royal Infirmary. John Grady, a spokesman for the Catholic Diocese of Leeds, said: "We can confirm that a baby was born at St Joseph's Catholic College on Friday, December 15, to one of the pupils. "Every help is being given to the mother and child and to the immediate family of those concerned."

It surprises me that a Catholic school allowed the girl to stay in class when she was pregnant, as that goes against their beliefs. The school I went to put unwed, pregnant mothers in another school, parenting classes. It is sad that a 15 year old girl is pregnant to start with, but being Catholic, even more so. It is so important that we have open communication with our children and know what is going on in their lives so things like this don't happen. "Babies having babies" .... when is it going to stop. A 15 year old is too young to be able to care for a child.

A 15 year old should not be having a baby when she is a baby herself. I agree that she could have hid it. Regardless of her weight. But it makes me curious. How out of touch are we with our children that we can't notice them being pregnant. Or is it just ignored by the parent.

that is a very sad situation of the present day school children. it shows hoe they r brought up and what sort of education is given in the schools. the days to come are going to be very bad with the current lifestyle people are tending to follow.

she is a tough girl, i admire her, she keeps the baby..and her parents sent her to school even she is preggy, that is how supportive of them...i admire people who accept things as they are,,even good or bad..after all a baby is always a blessing...congratulations,,, the girl is still a baby, but she will learn to be a mom sure...i know she will, god bless those who nurture babies, coz babies are from god..

It is a miracle of life that we should all embrace but it is the cause of the pregnancy we should be concerned with and not the girl and her values

I am glad to hear everyone is fine, but this is a child having a child!! I really feel sorry for these young people that are having children at such a young age, because I don't think some of them realize what a responsibility it will be for many years to come.

That is why I had to stop watching shows like Jerry Springer, Maury, etc.. OMG. For the longest time it's like all I saw were teens (young teens) who were like "I'm going to die if I don't get pregnant!". They seemed to think that nobody else loved them, so they'd create somebody to love them. Forget about the fact they can't even support themselves, let alone another person. Forget the fact that this would probably mean they have to put off school- and in many cases, will probably drop out of school. There is so much to think about, and yet these kids DON'T think about it. And they think they know everything.. so it's like who can tell them any different?

Why a 15 year old girl pregnant at her last month attended school lessons? Why the teachers permitted that? Don't they have respect for the student and the human life? And the mother and father? Where were they when their daughter had the baby? Of course it's a bless to have a baby born but I wish this 15 year old student will have all the help needed in order to grow up her child.

shocking news but this happens in many places in this world. there is no wonder in this . but it is very pity to note that the child aged 15 was mde pregnant by some person(may be culprit) . if the reason is due to marriage then also it is very to pity for a child to have a child at this under age. this is the age for growth and getting matured. and not to gave birth fo child. glad to note that every help is being offered. thanks for bringing such a news under discussion

I think that today's world urgently needs a transformation , if this is the route in which it is going then the parents must be keeping detectives to spot their child's every movenment , So i hope that must not come as it is a very bad thing which has happened to a family on a whole , so we must be aware of it and educate our children and ourselves to make this not happen in our lives , and i feel it is the main fault of the parents of the child whom they are seeing daily and they are not responding th the sudden growth in the size of hjer stomach ..... man mainly for me the parents are to be blamied but not the child
