If you don't know much about it than why did you comment on the thread? The point of a forum is not to just respond to everything no matter whether you have anything to say on the matter or not. It is to respond to threads that you are interested in and you understand. Clearly you just made that post in the interest of increasing your point rating and earning a nother cent. Those kinds of posts on this site might be the reason why its not going to take off and become and active forum. If they ever lower the payout or take away that incentive this whole forum would fall apart because of people who make posts liek yours. But I must admit that because of your post you allowed me to make a significantly long justified post akin to a rant that will get me a lot more income than your one liner and it took me just as long to type it.

Programming something like a 3-D game takes multiple pieces of software to do all of the things. You need a basic IDE for the coding, maybe a 3D graphics program to do the rendering and modeling, and possibly animations, then you need a good photoshop like program to do all your textures and 2D images. I suggest you simply buy a book to learn and they include trial versions of all the really expensive software that you need. I've seen game programming books for beginners at various book stores so I suggest you try that or do some research online looking for a tutorial or something similar.
