Why do more people vote for American idol than for president?

Is there really something wrong with todays socitey in America? I ponder that question often...I mean is it really bad when American Idol can generate more votes than the presidential election?? Nah...I reassuredly tell myself?? I am not so sure. As much as I love American Idol; I think it is a digusting thing when the people of America are to lazy to get off there bums and go cast a vote. Everyone wants to make sure they get two senses in but they have no gumption to vote. I think more people vote for American idol because it is appealing. Presidential canidates don't really live up to the America ideal..they are stuffy and rigid..we as a nation better change gears...soon
