Directory Assistance (I did not know this!) No
charge for directory
assistance. Phone companies are charging us $1.00 or
more for 411
information calls when they don't have to. When you
need to use the 411 /
Information option! Simply dial 1-800-FREE-411 or 1
800 373 3411 without
Incurring a charge. This is information people don't
mind receiving

I've used free 411 for finding out phone numbers before. It's a great service.

That is great information. Thank you very much for sharing this with everyone. I will program that into my cell phone in case that I need to use directory assistance. It stinks that the phone company would charge someone for this service.

thanks for sharing this nice information. this is really helpful. at least i didn't know it earlier that we have free 411 call. earlier i use 411 and they charged me. i have already tried this number 1 800 373 3411. thanks again.

Interesting. Wonder if it works from a Cellphone? If it does, and this discussion was started my friend such a long time ago how come it is not known? I guess it is something definately worth checking out if I ever have to call directory assistance again and see if it works.

I did not know they were charging that much now. When I need to look up a number I go to Verizon on line and look up the information I knew they had been charging for this service, But I had no idea they were charging that much. I think that is way to much just to get a number.
