Many people wonder how they can maintain a healthy weight without starving themselves. It is important for every would be dieter to understand that a healthy diet starts with exercise. Without a solid exercise plan, it will be almost impossible to maintain a weight loss over the long term. That is because virtually any diet can help you lose weight over the short term. Simply cutting back on calories while maintaining your normal schedule will certainly allow you to lose weight, at least in the short term The problem with this approach, of course, is that it is difficult to maintain. Eventually you will grow tired of the same old restricted calorie diet, and when you stop eating that diet, the weight will quickly return. Worse yet, many yoyo dieters end up gaining more weight than they lost, making it than much more difficult to lose weight the next time. In addition, this type of up and down weight gain and loss has been found to be even more dangerous than being overweight. The key thing to remember therefore is that a healthy diet starts with exercise. Exercise should be the cornerstone of any diet program, and without a solid exercise plan in place it will be virtually impossible to maintain any weight loss you do achieve through diet alone. Fortunately, it is not necessary to exercise like a fiend to achieve a healthy weight loss. Studies have shown that you can gain significant health benefits simply by exercising a few times a week, for as little as 20 minutes each day. That means that simply taking a walk around your neighborhood three or four times a year can be remarkably effective.I hope this has been of some help to you?

Starvation is not the way to weight loss. Adding quality food and reducing junk food is one of the way to weight loss. I lost arounds 25 pounds by cutting down all the junk food and adding vegetable soups, fruits, and salads to my diet. I think walking will reduce weight. I love cycling and would goes to short distances. Burning what you eat helps to reduce weight. Aerobic exercises are very good to increase the metabolism.

This is true. I think exercise is very important. I try and get out and walk a few times a week...I think that you meant that in your entry...not four times a year? Anyway...it is sometimes hard but diet and exercise are the only way..to go...

What people tend to do is either a) exercise only; or b) diet only. What people either don't know or tend to forget is that you have to have a healthy diet and exercise. That's my problem. I can get a good exercise program going, but I don't want to give up my sodas, chocolate, and all the bad food.

I think some of the other problems people have with losing weight is the routine thing. This is my major problem. I start on a diet plan with exercise and cant keep it up because it is boring. I need to lose about 10kg but can seem to, especially around my waist and hips.

exercise and diet go together with out one then it wouldn't be balanced. i reccomend yoga or pilates but then the normal stuff like walking, shopping, and dancing are really good exercises. lol.

Nice info but my doctor said the 1st step is to stop smoking the 2nd is to eat healthy and then the 3rd is exercise. If you dont do the 1st two firstly then you wont last long exercising.

Yes, A healthier life starts with exercise. Doing exercise daily will keep u fresh through out the day and makes u active any time. Doing 2 hours exercise daily will keep u healthier.

Yes what you said is write. not only exercise but also yoga,meditation,etc. but to continue the healthier life a body must be given good and strengthy food like egg, nv, milk etc by following some tips to take care of health every individual can maintain good health.

yes i also do excerise in the morning about 10-20 minutes . and after dinner i go for walk too.
