Do you need alcohol to enjoy yourself on a night out?

I myself don't, but I know a lot more people whose enjoyment would be severely affected. Many people decide before they go out that they're going to get absolutely hammered. I think this is stupid myself because you spend loads of money and can't remember half the night, but this goes on a lot. I just wanted to hear other's opinions on this.

i dont have to drink to enjoy myself but i like have a drink from time to time wen im out.i dont see any problem with that as long as we r not agresive.i hate wen ppl take piss out of me next day-well sorry i enjoyed myself and u should have joined me if we went together,if u gonna be like that then do not go with me next time. i dont wanna be stressed out next day by someone who doesnt have anything else to do.

i agree that a few drinks is okay, it's just when people continuously drink themselves into oblivion that concerns me.

No, you don't necessarily need it, but it sure makes many things a lot more interesting right!

I like yourself don't see the point in being hammered. I think a lot of people who do it either show no control or think it makes them more popular or big to show others they can put a lot away.

i do agree that a lot of it is to do with fitting in and using it as something to brag about.

No I would say.You can have a good time without it. If you drink to much you dont even know what you are doing. And you are right about the money, you can spend so much money ,and the next day when you get out of bed you would wish you had all the money back you spend .

i definitely do NOT! in fact, i very seldom even take one drink..i have a far better time by not drinking. I don't want to be sick the next day, and i certainly do not want to pay all that money for the privilege of being sick!...lol..seriously, I have a much better time sober, and I have a better time being around those who are sober, than someone who is slobbering drunk!

If you are with someone who is special for u and u just need to drink some to strengthen the bond of friendship then its okay. I believe in limited and controlled drinking in nightouts.

I made a point of not drinking when I go out to bars unless it is my birthday then I have one or two drinks, but only if I have a driver. I would only go out with my friends that also agree that you can have fun with out drinking so we could have fun without drinking and also remember it the next day. We would drink water and pop/soda, that is all. We laughed so much most people thought we were wasted all the time. Once we were refuse service for having to much to drink already, because we were laughing so hard about something that had happened before we got inside the bar. LOL!!

I don't drink and i have fun either way. I don't need that extra stimulant to give me that boost. Really don't get the whole idea of getting totally wasted just to have fun. I get high on fresh air...lol I agree, it is stupid. Why does one need to drink to have fun when all you get along the way is perhaps lose your underwear, puke your guts out or forget your way home....does that make sense? Sound like fun? Don't think i'll ever understand that .............if you booze, you lose!

It depends to where you want to go. In my case if I want to go for a ba hopping, I want to get drunk but not to the point where I cannot bring myself to my unit. I want to get drunk only when I know that I can still go back home safely. But not all of us get drunk just want to be happy. There are those who just want to have a glass of ladies drink or even a glass of juice and they enjoyed the night. Afterall it's YOU who will determine or shall I say measure your satisfaction and happiness, right?

True, everyone will get their 'high' in different ways, but i just don't like when people go past that.

Not anymore but now I enjoy myself being sober much more. I amazed and amused buy some of the thing to most unlikely people do and say when they had a few or a lot! I cringe to think of some of the things I have done in my 'partee hartee" days.

I'm not a big drinker either. I saw too many college friends start drinking becasue they thought they had to drink in order to have a good time. I also heard way too many of my dormmates throwing up in the bathroom after having one to many. That is not a plesant sound when you're trying to take a shower. It sounds like those people have deeper issues than wanting to be hammered all the time. Either they are trying to forget something or they are wll on their way to becoming full blown alcololics.

it's sad. People just don't think they will get drinking problems. What can happen when you drink a lot is that over time your cells can change and next thing you know you have an addiction.

I am not a habitual drinker, but I find if I am going out with a few friends, I do indulge in a couple of drinks. That is enough to put me in a good humour for the night, and I always remember the morning after. I have gone overboard on a couple of occasions and I didn't like the feeling afterwards. So two is the limit now.

Nope, been dry for 11 years now and I don't have a problem with it. In fact I think I enjoy things ten times more so than when I did drink. Good question!
