how to get a printer to stop being so dotty?

I got a photo printer and ever picture I print comes out dotty (sorry I don't know the correct term)I know it is not the camera because I have taken pictures to walmart and had them printed off and they come out fine.

Maybe your printer has low pixel counts. Pixels are what you call the "dots". Each printer has a certain number of pixels per line. The higher the pixel count, the less "dotty" they look. You may want to check your printer's packaging and compare the pixel count to different photo printer models. You may want to check out with your dealer to see what other printers they have.
