new year with family or friends? am confused

hey guys iam totally confused. torn between family and friends. i have 5friends who are in my city all alone for studies. my family is having a bash for close relatives on new year but my mom doesnt want to invite my friends over and wants me to spend the day with family. on the other hand these guys. what do i do?
