Does this mean you see red for green and green for red, or can it mean all colours are greyish? Also is it true only men can be colour blind?

I was told that colleague of my friend is colour blind. In his world there is no green colour. To him all the grass, leaves are red. He is a wire man, so how do he distinguish the wire, he was told that the red wire he sees is green. Lucky that there is no red wire, if not he have to find another job.

My husband and his brother are color blind. There are different degrees to this problem. My husband is shade blind. He can tell some colors but others he has to really think about. He was not diagnosed til he was in kindergarden. His brother is black and white color blind. He only sees things in black and white. There are many jobs they are not capable of holding due to this problem. I have a son and he does not have any problems with this. I don't know any women that have it but I know of many men with this problem. It has not stopped my husband nor his brother from doing anything though.

Yes, it is a higher rate for men than women. I think something like 1 in 4. I don't know the ratio for women. I know that it makes certain colors only appear as different shades of grey, but I don't know whether this also affects depth perception.

I think that women carry the gene for colour blindness but it only affects males. At least that's what I learned in school :)

the percentage of men is more to this disease than to women coz of the y chromosome present in men.colorblindness is a parental disease.

I think there are different degrees of color blindness. Also I know that a female can be color blind, it is just that it is way more common in males.
