What odd places do you find beauty in?

I'm from the great state of South Dakota. When people hear this, they often ask questions. "Where?" "Do you drive home or fly home?" "Isn't the trip boring?" After explaining where South Dakota is (South of North Dakota, North of Nebraska, East of Whyoming, and West of Minnesota), I often hear the driving question. Yes, I do drive home, and it is a long hall! It's a 10 hour drive to go visit my family. Yes, your drive may be longer, but 10 hours is 10 hours. Now, most people think the prairie is the ugliest thing they've ever seen. However, I rarely find such striking beauty in any other state. I've lived in the Mountains, in the city, and in the suburbs, but I still prefer the prairie. It is so beautiful and majestic. It's almost like God himself watches over the prairie to keep outside forces from making it into an iron jungle. I love the rolling hills, the lone tree in the distance, the roving cow, and the springing antelope. To me, the prairie is absolutely breathtaking. Now, I would like to know, where do you find beauty? Are your places odd, ugly to the naked eye, or maybe just plain boring, but to you they are beautiful? I want to hear!
