Why do people generally learn bad words in any language first and fast?

I have always noticed that most of the time, whenever people are learning a new language, its always the bad words that they learn first and fast. I'm not blaming the faculty but somehow through fellow students or seniors these words are the first lot which they tend to learn fast? Ever wondered why it's so?
