Giving up Alcohol

December 29, 2006 10:43am CST
Just wondering if anyone else out there is finding giving up alcohol really hard. I'm not an alcoholic but i do like a drink to help me relax. I would like to give it up completely for the new year. each time i think i can do it, all ido is think about the one thing i don't want. Can anyone else help with suggestions on how to stop myself thinking about it?. I want to change what i eat and drink and start getting fitter. please if you can help i would be grateful

you can slowly can get rid of it, you must be strong in will. For relax, they have to start new hobbies, do not give up, one day you will stop.

How did you manage to stop?. I'm out of work so no money to buy any at the moment, but parents had loads for christmas which while i'm at home not able to afford to go out, it's staring me in the face. I must admit since i joined this yesterday it's given me something else to think about and hopefull i might meet new friends. How long have you been a member for?.
