What was the biggest story of 2006?

I don't think this is the biggest story of 2006, but i do think it was a big story. he Michael Richards racist rant that was captured on video. The man managed to sink his career in about thirty seconds time. This of course brought up the entire issue of race in America and how far we've really come. The other big story was Congressman Foley and his dirty emails to young pages on Capitol Hill.
