Is leaving out a part of a story to save someone's feelings dishonest? Does this amount to "lying"? Do you ALWAYS tell all?

Difficult, I guess just as long as you do not hurt anybody's feelings

truth is truth whether half or full. your son is at hospital,as i smashed his car...now tell me who would want to face his parents,so just tell that their son is at hospital.its not a lie and its helpfull too.its not dishonest but its not being honest either.

My nature determines that I need to know the details - I would go with half truths are lies.

Difficult! Er..Liable to leave certain things out if they're not important but will worry someone. I'd rather have the whole story known however!
