u can get free domain names. but such sites do not provide free hosting. u have to pay for hosting. and the sites that give free hosting do not provide free domain names.

Ive heard of something called Namezero.com Which provides free domains .. dunno if it still exists

if you really search hard and long enough you can get free domains, but whats the use pay a bit to websites like godaddy.com and u pay for the domains and hosting is free. remember the phrase always you only get what you pay for. so i recommend purchasing the domain at godaddy.com and avail of their free hosting purposes. but if u need it for free its really gonna be hard to get and once you get it you will not have full rights over it and so basically the owner of that domain is the person who gave it to you for free, which i am absolutely sure once your websites start becoming successful he will soon hijack the domain and ask you for money that would cost you a lot more than it would to purchase one in the first place
