Religion does it really matter in betterment of mankind?

When God is one, we live in the same world, we have same body and brain, we laugh and cry similarly, then why should one be either a Hindu, Muslim, SiKh, Christian or of some other religion? Why can't we all adopt a single religion of manking and Humanity? Have you ever given a thought? Your valuable comments please !

I think religion is where a lot of the problems are coming from, I am not religious but I am spiritual, so I have my own beliefs that do not come from a book, there seems to be so many books or written words that sort of cancel each other out somewhat...these written words have gone through generations of interpretations that I think maybe they have also been changed slightly to suit the beliefs of certain people who like the power of their religions.

Yes ! So true ! The religious heads have been interprrtting the written words in their respective religious books in their own way from generation to generation for their vested interests and needs! In the name of religion many poor people are subjected to inhumane things! This is applicable to one and all the religions. God never asked any human being to behave in a particular way. This nature is the gift of the God, when he can be so kind and considerate for us how can he be so cruel that he asks his religious heads to be so?
I think helping the fellow human beings and the numb craetures of the nature without expecting anything in return is the best way of worshipping the God and best way of following the religion of Humanity and Mankind!

Yes ! You are absolutely true and people even if start thinking on these lines today. there can be some change expected tomorrow ! Change or adoptation in the life is the progress in the life! Let us start thinking in positive way and believe in only one religion that is the religion of Mankind and Humanity and help the needy and not hurt others.Live and let live be the principle in our life! I totally agree about ur reasonings about human emotions. But from my point of view the religious princliples are more important than their gods. Its about 'making' a group of people having same ideas & thoughts. In many cases people have different views about same thing. this intiaites the formation different of groups.

Do you mean to say that the people with different ideas and views canot live together in the same group and they do need to form a different group? Have you given a thought that was the way the groupism started and the strong persons in thus formed groups have become leaders of their respective groups and with the evolvement these leaders have occupied the position of Religious leaders in the name of riligion ! Do you know previously the religious leaders were the most powerful people and they even used to rule certain kingdoms directly or indirectly! This is the present prevailing situation. My point is that why do we need to have a religion and in the name of it , we need to commit are inhumane things which even the wild animals don't do! Wild animals kill their natural preys only when they are hungry! But the Human being in the name of religion killing his fellowmen for no reason known to him in the name of religion! Please think and answer! Thanks for the response !
