investments in life

I am worried by the culture which is prevalent in todays times. The children nowadays only live for today and theres no tomorrow for them. They do not know the meaning of "Saving for a rainy day"...and neither are they aware of something known as investments in life. which brings me to my concern..Should they be allowed to enjoy life as they are now or should some discipline be instilled in them so that they learn the importance of saving and investing for their futures?
