A man's best friend.

I'm a 29yo man, my cat Mo (short for Morfessa)is my best friend. People say that cats aren't loyal, Mo is the most loyal animal I've ever had. If I'm sad he's always there sitting with me with his paw on my arm like he's consolling me. We play together like we are a pack. He's very smart and tells me what he wants by pointing to it with his nose. I think dogs are very silly animals without a mind of their own. Mo thinks for himself and for us. I remember when I didn't have any food and the last money I had I spent on cat food, so he went out and caught a mouse and brought it to me to eat. Of course I didn't but it was that type of sweet thought that makes me love him more everyday. I don't think I can imagine my world without him. If he ever leaves I think I would want to leave with him. I got off the streets because I needed to look after him. I got my first house for him. I am good with money so that I can feed him. If he doesn't like someone that comes to my house they have to leave because he's a really good judge of people. I know this seems a little radical but I do have really good friends that are kind hearted and honest because he liked them.

I also love cats. I have 3 cats and they are all so different. My baby cat (who is 2 year old) is in love with me and mabe too much sometimes. He sleeps with me (and not with my bf) and kiss me all the time (like a dog do). My 2 other cats are really independant and he his the most dependant cat I ever own. He's almost like a human and understand thing we ask. Cats are really the man best friend :)

Mo is now 8 years old, he still acts like a kitten though. He was run over by a car once, his tail wasn't working for a while and the vet said that he'd have to chop it off. This made me cry because he lived with dogs for 6 months of his early life and he now wags his tail when he's happy, if you call his name or if e's playing. I spent about a month massaging his back and tail imagining electricity moving down his spine to the end of his tail. Don't know if the visualization worked but his tail does now. I'm sure it gives him greif still sometimes but he still runs around like I said like a kitten. Yeah Mo understands alot of what I say too.

Cats are so often misunderstood because they seem to be "too independent" or "aloof" but what you describe is the truth. Your thinking is not radical at all. I live on 7 acres of land and care for at least 50 cats that are wild and also do fostering and rescue. I agree with you that they will go out of their way at times to show us unconditional love. Some argue cats don't love but I don't think this way and don't pay much attention to this type of thinking; I know what I know and have been around many many cats to prove them different. What you and Morfessa (which by the way is an awesome name) have is something many will never understand. Bonds like that are real love.

Thanks for understanding and thanks for the comment on Mo's name. It's, I beleive, the celtic name for Merlin. He was one of the four wise men of the Tuathan De Dannan, or as we call them, the faries. Morfessa brought the stone of Fale to Fale. This is the stone that in King Arthurs stories that the sword was in. Each of the four wise men brought an item of power to the faries, such as the Sword of Lugh (Excaliber), The Horn of Dagda(The Holy Grail) and the Spear of Fion (the Spear that Pieced Jesus flesh). Fion, Dagda and Lugh were gods of the fary people, Fale was a town or region. The other four wise men were of the fary people where as Morfessa came from somewhere else and was said to be able to walk between worlds. This meant that he could be with one race or another. The faries were said to be otherworlders by the Celts which meant they came from a distant land. I think they were Romans that were driven out by the Roman Catholics.

Hi, Welcome to the Mylot community. Glad that you and Mo are here. I have several cats and I know what you mean about them bonding with you and helping you through some of life's tough times. I also have a little dog and she just adores the cats. I do believe that cats can tell about someone's character. They have an uncanny sense about who to trust and who not to trust. Happy New Year to you and Mo.
