e is the irrational number that is associated with natural logarithms & is most frequently used in Calculus.. Approximate value of e=2.7182718... [not recurring.. Remember it is irrational] So can you tell where orgin of e lies? or Give as more definitions as possible of the Number- e

I think it comes from Compound interest & taking limit..

it is named after the mathematician Euler-starting letter e. there are a host of ways in which you can compute the value apprx to this no. e. perhaps it isnt the most frequently used irrational no.-i think its pi! what do u say?

Thanks for info. I did not know that it was named after Euler.. May be most frequently used number is Pi, ya you may say that.. Still In all limits etc.. there is e & not Pi..
