How do you housetrain dogs?

Hi, I own three dogs. I just recently bought my third one, a doberman puppy (still can't come up with a name) and I am very eager to train her. There are a lot of myths about doberman pinschers - that they are vicious and mean but I feel that if properly trained and socialized, she will do fine. Do any of you own dobes? How are they at home and when they are outside? Do they get along with other dogs or animals? If you know any tricks or tips on how to housetrain dogs, feel free to share your thoughts here.
