well you are rite brother education system in India must go through a rapid change.there is a change needed in the system in terms of technical aspects rather than studying theoritical aspects only. Our studies only have the theoritical concepts but lack of practical ones that are used in the industry mostly.I think when people pass out from the college they get placed easily nowadays but still they do not stay longer as they end up getting fired or the ones who are far better move to the western countries and that also needs to change......System needs to be changed according to what the companies require today.there must be specializations starting from graduate level only.i think that will change the course of study and students will not be stressed that much when they will have to go through less no of subjects.more stress should be given on the practical aspects.

yea u r right...at present its full of bookish knowledge....but we or the companies need frm us is the practical knowledge which we r missing..so our so called authors r intellectuals who prescribed this methodology should rethink abt this as early as possible...

the engineerin education at present is very much theory oriented and does not helps to hone the skill the students in a practical way...it doesnt not encourage enterpreneurs to develop..it must be changed

Yes, it needs to change. With great developement in technology, continuing the same education so many years has made it worser. Also, whatever we are taught over here we learn the practical world to be much different

almost all the papers we study r corelated.. but here there's no such staff support who can reveal this to students but they themself donn know in most cases.. if we think that students shudd work hard then its really a gr8 hardship bcoz our system in school's also deadly bad

engineering education - engineering education - strive to be a better engineers
yes indeed its happening now a days in india, i feel the basic education is not only to earn a job, i makes you metally grow and accomodate to any situations you come by, regarding the education system-its gone from worse to bad, coz of polititians etc etc etc, i think we too should take the blame because we are not doing anything to set it right, i think i need a much more detailed explaination to make you understand, hope my reply was good, comment on this

ya definetly it needs a change they are making all of us sound theoreticalloy not practically and i think an engineer should be more sound practically as he is someone differnt from any other normal person

I agree with your point that the engineering education should be revamped. It should be more practical rather that theoritical. All get passed by studying the theories but practically they are not upto the mark

i totally agree with u ......!! i am in my final year right now n i think the system sucks big time ...!! its all to theoretical and marks are the only thing that counts ...!! knowledge is of no importance ...!! people just mug the stupid answers and go write it in the exams ...!! days after exams are over no body even remembers what they had studied ....!! the quality is degrading day by day and the whole system and the syllabus needs to be changed .it needs to be updated with the current trends in the industry .

what my opinion is that most people passing out from engg college dont get the jobs to heir true potential. for example most electronics engineers gets the job of software field like coding and debugging which any diploma people can do.

Have u ever tried to do your part? Well have u ever taken this issue in your hands and addressed the issue to your university or did u jus complain and stay back as unknown. If u did the later I support u to my full extent trouble with our community is we dont wanna stand up front. We all need leaders to work for us, but we never try to be leaders.

Even i was sudying in India .I completed my F.E.(MECH) fromRajiv Gandhi Institute Of Technology, Mumbai Univ i thought i would get atleast some practical knowledge but i was very disapponted wen i learnt the real situation. So fed up of this i landed here in the States to further my education by transfering to S.E. over here .

what our four years of engg provides is just the basics to everything. It aint industry oriented and it shouldnt be.Its just a platform which gives each of us engg's to learn our basics.During our training period in industry we are to apply these basics and learn industrial techniques.

I am of the opinion that education system in india needs to be changed a lot more right from primary education to high education. Engg education need to a drastic changes in it. Student placed fired up from the company due to the student unability to cope up with the change. Nowadays engg education should be more object oriented and more practical to company so that they can cope up with the demand of the rising industry interface.

Yes in our country mainy in andhra pradesh most students after 12th goes to engg.. The problem is with parents where almost everyone want to make their children either engg or doctor. In my case i am interested in mathematics and my father wanted me to join in engg. even though i got IIT rank i joined in INDIAN STATISTICAL INSTITUTE ,KOLKATA. BUt to join in this institute i fought with my father for many days as it will be better for me in statistics rather engg. Many students join engg as many of them think other fields such as B.sc etc.. are useless and only engg will make the life bright. In may opinion many parents joining girls in engg because they can get well educated groom.I know one of my relative studied engg by paying donation 1 lakh per year.

Yes, the U.S. Education System has definitely declined in quality. In my opinion, we need to go back to the 3 R's. Reading, writing and arithmetic. I feel learning to read by phonics should be brought back, also. But, unfortunately, our government cares more about let's all just get along, that they put more emphasis on racial issues than they do just teaching correctly to all, white, black, hispanic, asian, etc.

i agree. education needs to match with industry requirements, not the otehr way round. if people being trained in universities cannot do the job then what is the purpose of education? what tyhey learn will be wasted.
