I have read in the News paper that use of head phones more than 1 hour daily may damage ears, a recent research report. Is it true?

I think it can affect the ears especially when using it so loud... The ears has limited decibels which it can hears when it exceeds, the frequency goes directly to your eardrum and it may affect... That's my idea... Thanks!

What about people who do transcription work like I do? We have the headphones on top of our head for 8-10 hours each day? Can listening to human voice be damaging to our ears as well? Any inputs will be appreciated. Thanks.

Yes i believe about this research report because our ears gets used to loud sound directly to our eardrums and in order to hear accurately, the sound must be of higher volume.

I don't know if its true or not but if you have the volume turned way up, its bound to damage your hearing. Most people I know turn it up loud. I suppose the best thing would be not to have it very loud. I used to listen to headphones all the time and it was loud, but my hearing is okay.
