Here are a few sites that are great for those who love crowds and big parties on New Years Eve! Times Square has one of the most famous New Years Eve celebrations in the world. This first site is an overview of the history of the Times Square celebration and has a lot of interesting information: http://www.timessquarenyc.org/nye/nye.html This second site takes a while to load, I'm warning you- if you have a slow connection you will have trouble. It's a series of live web cams in Times Square- a little boring to watch right now, but they'll be interesting as it gets later in the evening, towards midnight: http://www.earthcam.com/usa/newyork/timessquare/ Enjoy! and Happy New Year to All!!

It's the next best thing to being there! I prefer the comfort of my couch to those huge crowds, anyways!

It was a true site- the webcams were set up in NY City, in Times Square. A lot of what was seen on the computer was the same as what was seen on TV.

Thanks for responding. There were a lot of good concerts and events going on in NY, but the cams didn't pick most of them up.

Church is probably one of the best places to be on New Years. That's truly starting the year off right.

Thanks for the response. I can understand that a lot of people prefer smaller, more intimate celebrations to the crowds in a place like Times Square.

I'll never forget the one time on New Years eve where my second oldest son went with my husband to Times Square for New Years. They were sharing the same bus pass and my son did'nt have any money on him. Lo and behold they lost one another in the crowd and luckily I was able to convience the authorities to let him on the subway for free.

What a scary time that must have been!! I'll bet that they never went back there for New Years! It's much safer to watch it on TV! Hope you had a Happy New Years Eve last night!

I watched on TV, also. There were over 1 million people there in person. They had a lot of cool events and concerts. It would be fun to do sometime.

Actually, a Spring Festival in the country sounds better than the wild crowds! I hope you enjoyed the day. You'll have to post about the Festival and the celebrations for the Chinese New Year for us to learn about!

I spent the evening watching the festivities on TV and working on the computer- Not much of a party goer this year! I hope you had a nice evening, and Happy New Year too you, also! As for resolutions, they're the same every year... the diet starts TODAY, along with exercise.

I have reported you to MyLot for copying the original discussion as your response, and have also given you a negative rating. Your New Years resolution should be to stop cheating and try to earn some money honestly.

It would be a long trip for you, for sure! There were people there from all over the world! Maybe some day you will be there for New Years. It's a great city to visit at any time, also. Summertime is especially fun, because you can just wander around all over and see the sights.
