A new site opens in January called Spiralfrog.com. Check it out. Free music downloads that are 100% legal and the artist get paid!

i just checked it out and found out its an advert based site which is how it stays free (if anyone was wandering without having to go there) its not up and running yet but i know ill be keeping an eye on it
